Things I learned at IDPA

1: HKS speedloaders can drop all but one or more rounds in the cylinder of a revolver, and the rest on the ground during stressful reloads.

2: The stock sights on a K-frame smith are invisible in low light, and a flashlight does not always work to see them.

3: My arm can no longer take even .38special
 without hurting weeks later.

4: My point shooting out to 10 yards is pretty good, as in -1 was except for a couple targets was the worst I did.

5: I love the trigger on my Smith.

6: I do not like how slow I'm at reloading a revolver.

7: I do not want to fire my revolver one handed ever again, even though it is a K-frame smith firing target .38special.

So in conclusion, I am thinking selling my revolver and getting something lighter recoiling.

Eh Since all the cool kinds have been passing this around I figured what the hey.

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Ranger (5th Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength-17
Dexterity-17
Constitution-15
Intelligence-16
Wisdom-15
Charisma-13

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment when it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast.

Okay not sick now.

Either it was food poisoning, or my work got me sick....

Anyways later posting about my IDPA insights on my current revolver carry.

Saturday, August 3, 2013

I thought it couldn't get worse.

Well after the match, I got locked out of my car. Then after getting back in found the battery dead....
Hence why I was 6 hours after the match getting home, and now I've gotten sick from something.

Called in sick to work, sick.

I go in to work unless I can't walk, or well the bathroom is my new vacation spot.

Ergh, next month hopefully won't have this bad of luck.

only six hours after match

I just got home some six hours after the match ended. Still didn't get DQed, oh and did I mention my first match was a no light/low light match?

Fun was had, procedurals were done by I, and no non shoot targets were hit.

I shot with a stock Smith and Wesson 65-7, using Federal LRN 158gr 38special. Light was a energizer 1watt led tactical metal.
This was across 4 stages, first one started from seated.

I was one of 3 shooting revolver, but the only stock service revolver. My best time was 38 seconds before scoring, scores to be posted later.

I did get one video that the light level was bright enough that you saw more then muzzle flash, although just barely.

Goodnight.

IDPA tomorrow

I'm going to try IDPA for the first time. Hope I don't suck too bad.

Scores and pics will be in with the after action report.
