Well the ipod touch is up and running....it fixed itself.

Other news I finally had to change the batteries in my rev flashlights, only took them a few months.

My partners car was sabotaged, oil was put in the tire. Ask some of the more "inventive" bloggers what oil inside a tire will do. Did a check on brake lines and other parts no signs of tampering. Only thing that saved them from a bad blow out was slime was already in the tire and kept most of the oil off the actual tire, and possibly the nail that caused the tire to go bad and not explode. We got real lucky.

Ah Swype...the experiment is over.

My Partner somehow switched to Swype on one of our mobile devices, the other is currently down, and its been interesting.
Swype has the speed for texting, and the corrective abilities to match, what it lacks is versatility, and ergonomics for single hand use or two handed use really either.

It does away with the androids ".com"button completely, and places the period in the most difficult to reach spot. Add in a dose of poorly sized keys and a silly drag to type function that just is clumsy without a lot of training. Ive been using it for a week now and still it is far slower then normal typing on the phone. It also removes a nice feature of the standard Android keyboard, arrow keys.

The only nice thing about it I can say is a separate "enter" and "go" buttons that make typing in certain webpage fields easier.

Why did I try it for a week if I didn't like it since day one? Couldn't figure out how to switch back.....til today.

Freaky dreams.

I just had one of my few dreams. It was a doozy.

I apparently in the dream had been in some kind of accident and they amputated my left hand.
As a ambidextrous person this is not a fun thought, and it was weird to have the sensations in the dream and see nothing but a stump. Phantom limb would suck, and this dream showed me how bad.

I must say it unnerved me to no end, the first thing I did upon waking was touch my face with my left and look at it.
I don't know what it would be like to wake up and realize that it wasn't a dream.

MBR, MR....longgun. Part 1

I've been trying to get this written as a draft, but have finally given up and will just be putting this out in parts.

Let me preface this with personally I think every house should have at least one long gun.

This does come into the obvious choice problem. Which one, and this comes into use, and capabilities in the factors to determine this.

Caliber, action, capacity and a whole lot more; all those play into uses and capabilities.

There is no one longgun for all uses and capabilities. That's something I realized early on, and it was a eye opener in a way.

I'm just going to go through my path, and my reasons for picking my longgun.

I personally struggled with this choice for years, my capabilities are limited due to some physical limitations of eye sight and nerve damage.

So right off the bat I knew my max range would be around 100 yards, without a scope, which I don't like on a rifle anyways.
I wanted a longgun that could take being out in the muck for a bit without being rendered useless.
I also wanted something at least .30caliber.
Capacity was kinda not a big issue for me, but I did want more then 5 shot capacity.
What I wanted it for was home defense, possible survival/hunting longgun, and battle rifle.

Those are my specs, and they evolved as I searched into that current list. These may change, depending on life.

First range, my range is limited because of my poor eyesight, and a shake because of nerve damage in my arms that makes me shake and twitch.
I cannot see really anything past 100 yards even with my glasses, general shapes and colors is the best I can see. After shooting a bit with a scope on some longguns I realized my eyes have problems focusing after initial shots to do follow up shots quickly, it can take up to 10 seconds(this found out by my doing the " 1 Mississippi count" way of finding out the amount of time) for my eyes to refocus on the scope image. I'm not sure why this happens but it does and its something I must take into account.
So ironsights are what I decided on, and they are a bit more durable then scopes. Right there I hit my first limiter, and realised sniper I am not.

Second was durability, this at first had me looking at bolt actions, but I found those limited to prone and supported shooting for quick follow up shots, and so I dropped that idea. Add in my lefthanded longgun shooting and the available models were thin. So semi-auto, lever-action, and pump-action;were left. I for years fought lever and pump actions, thinking them far to slow, until I realized that was my own capabilities were lacking and not a true problem of the actions in what I wanted it for, and most semi-autos also were not really lefty friendly. This is were I got stuck for a long time until I worked out other specs.

So that's part 1.

Just watched

I just finished watching Atlus Shrugged Part I, it was interesting, and definitely not a movie for most. I will have to think about it a bit before giving my full thoughts.

I do know one thing, it does bash you over the head with the main idea. Sheesh my head hurts from the constant bashing it took. But there are more things to think about before I talk more about it.

Ga Department of Revenue are idiots.

I just got a notice 10 days after they did so, that the Georgia Department of Revenue has suspended my cars registration for no insurance coverage....even though I have already sent them twice and so has my insurance company as well that my car has been insured with no gaps in coverage.

Oh look.

Works, Broken. Who here thinks this is gonna change? I know I'm gonna leave soon if it doesn't soon.

I'm starting to feel like.

Ever have one of those days that you think your stuck in some kind of horrible experiment. I did today, and it seems to be university 25, just before it goes full Donner party crazy.

Not sure anymore.

I was not happy with the SCOTUS ruling. Now I'm just kinda shellshocked. I'm just not sure where to go from here. My mind isn't sure of why it happened, and what it truly means.

Well tomorrow is candyland.

Tomorrow I will be going to a local gunshow, just a shits and giggles trip. Sadly my Partner says no more guns....yet. I actually kinda want them to go, I want them to have something a little more potent for self defense then a mace canister. Im thinking something in the 400MW range, but sadly not in the budget. Any suggestions, and no firearms, they can't have any.

Its something I don't talk about, they are not a felon, but firearms are verbotten for them.

WHOOHOOO! (Victory dance!) I made the Gun Blog Blacklist. Minor victory, but a nice one.
